History NETI-NSTUNETI is a research community of enthusiasts. We work to discover the world, explore its secrets and tell the world about them. NSTU — NETI (from 1953 to 1992 - the Novosibirsk Institute of Electrical Engineering) was established to educate a new generation of scientists, engineers and inventors in Siberia after World War II.Georgy Lyshchinskiy – an engineer and researcher became the leader of the team of young innovators who created the university where education and research addressed both the immediate and long-term needs of industry. They faced the challenge of creating a system of training specialists ready to fulfill practical tasks and restore the country's industrial power. NETI was also responsible for research and technological development specified by the needs of the USSR leading businesses. Under the leadership of G. Lyshchinsky (1955-1990), NETI, grew from a small institute focused on one industry to one of the largest polytechnic universities in modern Russia. In 1992 NETI received the status of a university, and in 2017 it became one of the 22 flagship universities of the Russian Federation. Over the period of 50 years, the university has become a highly competitive academic community and a research leader in nanotechnologies and new materials, energy and electronics, transport, IT, quantum technologies.
